Who We Are
Segway of Chicago is part of the new dealer network across America but it is much more than that. Jim & Chandra Reynolds have brought a wealth of product knowledge to our store in La Grange, Illinois.
Jim & Chandra are the originators of the acclaimed Segway Fest, the world famous Owners and Enthusiast's conference.
Jim captains the ship and leads the charge, whereas Chandra is our arbiter of style & grace and the person responsible for the look and feel of Segway Chicago. Her design expertise, coming from the contract design world, has made us a cutting edge store.
We were early adapters of the Segway Personal Transporter and formed a company to market the product to individual consumers as well as to commercial accounts. Our team was instrumental in product demonstrations and placements for companies like Hewlett-Packard, YKK Architectural Products, The Robotics Show, Walter E. Smith, Calumet City Police Department, The Police Fleet Expo, The "H" Foundation, Acheson Ventures, The Evanston 4th of July Parade, The Illinois Institute of Technology, The Hyatt Hotels, Riverside Cruise Nights, Motor Coach Industries, WGN Radio, LaGrange Police, Oak Park Police, Berwyn Police, Bartlett Police, Barrington Police, South Elgin Police, Oak Brook Mall, Harper College Security, Morton College Security, and the City of Aurora.
We have appeared on ABC, WTTW, WFLD, WGN, NBC, CBS, CLTV and in many other of the Chicago newspapers including the Tribune, the Sun-Times, Financial Times, and Crain's Chicago, just to name a few.
Michael Peterson is probably the first person you will encounter with a visit to Segway of Chicago and most likely he's the one you will speak to on the phone. He's our stalwart Store Manager and V.P. of Sales. Michael is also the guy you want to train you on the Segway since he knows all the tricks and tips that are a great help to new riders.
Michael's mechanical ability is unsurpassed as is evidenced by a recent round of technical training where he was twice as adept at the disassembly and reassembly of a machine as any of the other dealers. He can fit any accessory to your Segway while you wait and give you verbal tips on how to care for your machine to preserve its battery life and longevity. Segway of Chicago is very fortunate to have Michael as our business companion and I think you will come to appreciate him as well. Stop in during hours (Tuesday through Saturday 10am until 5pm) and ask Michael for a free demo...you will be glad you did!
